Our story
Hi, I'm Michael, the Founder and Creator of Songbox.
Songbox was born out of my frustrations after many years in the music industry. From playing local band nights in Glasgow, Scotland, to securing a major label deal and recording with Grammy-winning producers in L.A., I consistently faced the same problem: sharing music was a pain.

When I learned that several major artists I toured with shared these frustrations — even at the highest levels of the industry — I realized there was a problem to solve.
I released Songbox as a prototype and it attracted songwriters, producers, and artists at every level, from bedroom enthusiasts to Grammy winners. They all cited ease of use, a singular focus on music creators, and dedication to privacy and security as key differentiators from VC backed platforms like SoundCloud or Dropbox.
When it was time to start a business, I was soon joined by my longtime friend, professional DJ and former CEO of Tannoy Speakers, Ciarán O'Toole, and Canadian singer-songwriter Bryan Adams, both of whom have brought immense experience and knowledge to Songbox.
Now, Songbox has users from all over the world. We continue to build upon our core foundation of being the global platform of choice for sharing music privately, by developing an expansive range of tools to help artists, musicians, songwriters, labels, publishers and managers work more efficiently and ultimately achieve greater success.
