You asked, we listened: what's new on Songbox

Songbox is built by musicians, for musicians, and the honest truth is that the best ideas for it almost never start with us. They start with a message from someone using it every day: a producer who wished the player did one specific thing, an artist who kept hitting the same small snag, a manager whose workflow didn't quite fit.

We read all of it. Every reply, every feature request, every "this would be great if..." Feedback isn't a box we tick after the fact. It is the roadmap.

Here's a round of updates that came directly from you.

Songboxes are now playlists

The single most common piece of feedback we got came down to one word: "songbox." Enough of you told us that people didn't immediately get what it meant. So the thing you create and share is now called a playlist. Same feature, clearer word. Nothing changes about your existing links or content, and Songbox is still the name of the platform. It just takes one less sentence to explain now.

You wanted control over the player

A lot of you told us the same thing: once you share a link, the person listening should be able to make it their own. So we rebuilt the player. You now get shuffle, repeat, and a proper volume control, plus an autoplay switch so a track can end without automatically rolling into the next one. Small things on their own, but together they're the difference between a player that fights you and one that gets out of the way.

You wanted to set your own running order

This one came up again and again from bands and managers sharing a single link between them. You wanted to arrange the tracks into your own running order without disturbing anyone else's view. Now you can. Drag the tracklist into the order you want and it saves just for you, on your device, with no account required. The owner can see every proposed order and adopt one as the definitive sequence.

You wanted to work at night

Plenty of music gets made after dark, and a blinding white screen at 2am is nobody's friend. Dark mode is here. It's opt-in, so nothing changes unless you want it to, and you can switch back any time.

You wanted to share more than one thing at once

Sometimes a single playlist isn't enough. An album's demos, a pitch set, a client's whole roster: you told us you wanted to send all of it as one link instead of a dozen. Collections do exactly that. Group several playlists onto one shareable page, give it its own look and feel, and share the single link.

Keep it coming

None of this happened because we sat in a room and guessed. It happened because you told us what you needed, and we went and built it. That's the whole deal, and it isn't changing.
