Songbox

A private page where you share tracks, images, videos and files with chosen people, via a single link.

Track

A single piece of audio you have uploaded. Tracks live in your catalogue and can be added to any number of Songboxes.

Catalogue

Your full library of uploaded tracks.

Folder

A way to group tracks in your catalogue so they are easier to find and share together.

Writer

A songwriter credited on a track. You can add writers to your roster and assign their share of the songwriting.

Split (royalty share)

The percentage of a song's songwriting credited to each writer — this is each writer's royalty share. Splits across a song should add up to 100%. Songbox records your splits; it doesn't collect or pay royalties.

Publisher

The publishing company associated with a writer, used for copyright, crediting and royalty registration.

PRO (performing rights organisation)

The body that collects performance royalties for a writer — for example PRS, ASCAP or BMI. You can record each writer's PRO on their roster entry.

Roster

Your saved list of writers and publishers, so you can credit them quickly on future tracks.

Submission

Music that someone else sends to you through your submission link. Submissions arrive in your inbox for you to review.

Restricted access

A privacy setting that limits a Songbox to invited people only. Recipients confirm their email and verify new devices with a PIN.

Seat

On a team plan, a seat is one team member's place on your account. You add seats as your team grows.

Trial

A free period to try Songbox before any payment is taken.
