Set up two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second check when you sign in, so your account stays safe even if someone learns your password.

Turn it on

1. From the main menu, open Account, then the Security tab, and choose to set up two-factor authentication.
2. Scan the code with an authenticator app on your phone.
3. Enter the code from the app to confirm, and 2FA is on.

Save your recovery codes

You'll be given recovery codes — keep these somewhere safe. They let you back into your account if you ever lose your phone. You can regenerate them, or switch 2FA off again, from the same settings.
