Why we ask for a card when you sign up
It is mainly a security step. A card check helps keep bots and bad actors off Songbox, while genuine creators start with a 7-day free trial.
The main reason we ask for a card is security.
The internet is saturated with scammers and bad actors who find new, and sometimes unimaginable, ways to exploit and manipulate online platforms. A card check at signup is one of the simplest and most effective defences we have. Bots and throwaway accounts rarely have a real card behind them, so asking for one keeps a large number of bad actors out before they ever reach the platform. That keeps Songbox safer and cleaner for the real creators who use it.
Genuine creators still start free
Asking for a card does not mean paying to try Songbox. You begin with a 7-day free trial, and nothing is charged during those seven days.
Cancel any time before the trial ends
If Songbox is not for you, cancel before your trial ends and you pay nothing. You can do this yourself from Account, then the Subscription tab.
Your card is safe
Payments are handled by Stripe, our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
